the Game of Love ~ 9 weeks with the Mul Mantra ~ with 40 Day sadhana

Thursdays 7 to 9pm ~ 4th Feb to 1st April ~ Yoga on Harris, Palmyra

& optional 40 day guided sadhana home practice

1.png

"jo tho praem khaelan kaa chaao || If you want to play the game of love

sir dhhar thalee galee maeree aao ||then step onto the path with your head in your hand."

If there was any year to do it, it is this year: a year to walk your talk, to affirm and express the command of your soul.

In this course you will be walking in the footsteps of Guru Nanak, who authored the Mul Mantra, root mantra of Kundalini Yoga & Sikh Dharma. Each week on Thursday evenings is a 2 hour class of teaching, discussion, Kundalini Yoga kriya & meditation on each step of the Mul Mantra. The teachings shared are enriched by the wisdom of Karam Kriya Applied Numerology.

For you to have the chance to embody and integrate the teachings more, you will be offered optional homework & also a 40 day home practice.

The course is a wonderful entry into Kundalini Yoga through learning about your 10 spiritual bodies, which are also expressed in the Mul Mantra, as well as a deepening for those with experience already. It's an invitation to all into a life of greater embodiment of truth, walking side by side with the divine.

"eith maarag pair dhhareejai || When you place your feet on this Path,

sir dheejai kaan n keejai ||give your head, and never mind public opinion."

Guru Nanak

Guru Nanak lived in India 1469 to 1539. He travelled widely, accompanied by his Muslim rababi player, mardana, singing his teachings in verse (shabds) and demonstrating his for the times revolutionary understandings through simple, somehow innocent, yet powerful deeds.

The "game of love" he talks of is love for the divine. It is said that love is a pathless land. It is non rational, and yet others who have been there can point the way. It involves a surrender of the head to the heart &, in the language of Kundalini Yoga, standing under to understand, which involves humility. Stand under what?

The Mul Mantra is an extraordinary map of human evolution, naming universal principles and human virtues in their naturally unfolding order. When we see that natural order as higher than the mind, vibrate with & identify with it, it can guide, teach, bless, protect & dignify our steps.

A warning, however, from 15th century Guru Nanak - one that rings just as true today: "Never mind public opinion". When you step on this path, surrendering your head to your soul, your way may depart from the crowd, as Nanak himself did, his actions often flying in the face of the customs of the times in order to challenge them. Walking this way takes courage. But while you may lose something, you gain the priceless jewel of the integrity of your Self.

Mul Mantra

Ek Ong Kar Sat Naam Kartaa Purkh Nirbhau Nirvair Akaal Moort

Ajooni Saibhang Guru Prasaad Jap

Aad Such, Jugaad Such, Haibhee Such, Naanak Hosee Bhee Such

Daily Sadhana practice for Game of Love

As part of this journey with the Mul Mantra I invite you to commit to a 40 day daily home practice. Also anyone, also those not on the course or attending casually, is invited to take part in this.

The practice is about 60 minutes long. It consists of the 15 Minute Morning Kriya, relaxation and 11 long slow repetitions of the Mul Mantra - a meditation which belongs to the Stress Backpack set of 6 meditations to deal with stress. When you sign up I will send you a document with the full instructions.

I have chosen this kriya as it is a quick and dynamic awakening of your personal flow of kundalini - the energy of your soul. The long slow Mul Mantra meditation is both a strong medicine for de stressing in times of personal and collective stress and a beautiful, ample, wide opportunity to deeply contemplate the meaning of the mantra, to vibrate it through every cell and to let that vibration that calibrates with your true identity naturally displace any lesser and false identities. ie anything short of the truth of God and me, me and God are one.

Logistics

We begin Sunday 21st February with a group zoom practice session. This begins at 6am Perth time and concludes approximately 7am. Following this, you are invited to go and get a cup of tea and then return to ask any questions or simply share or listen in the group, closing the session at 7.30am.

Following that day 1 group practice (which is optional to attend) you continue daily on your own at home until day 40 on 1st April. It is recommended to keep a journal while doing the practice, to help you process and digest the experience and to mature and expand your consciousness.

Wednesday mornings at regular weekly Aquarian Sadhana practice 5am to 7.45am is a chance you have to practice the kriya and meditation together in a group. Currently we do this on the beach at Leighton and may move indoors as the season and the sadhana progresses and the weather changes.

Beyond this, we will discuss in the group what the wish is in regards to occasions of group practice on zoom throughout the 40 days in relation to my and others’ resources and come to an agreement.

Weekly classes of Game of Love will continue with teachings and different meditations and kriyas to explore the themes as they unfold through the Mul Mantra ie. we won’t do the sadhana practice in class.

The ideal time to practice is early morning, yet fit it into your day as fits your rhythm. The best is to practice at the same time each day, as this helps reprogramme the nervous system and creates an alternative rhythm and sense of harmony.

If you sign up to practice with the group you will be included in a group email in which I will give inspiration and input as I am inspired to and in which everyone is invited to ask any questions and to share. This is an open space for all.

Registration and payment:

Those wishing to attend who are not part of the course, or who are attending casually, I ask that you give a donation to be part of the sadhana. Recommended donation is $60, but give what you can. Check the box as to how you would like to make this donation - whether cash or transfer.

Bank transfers to JS Hergo Thanos. BSB 016 484 Acct 585533602. Thankyou.

If you have any questions at all, get in touch by emailing me jairamkhergo@gmail.com.

Kundalini Yoga for Women

8 weeks of Kundalini Yoga for women

Mondays 7.15pm to 8.45pm

at Yoga on Harris, Palmyra

YFW Term 1 2021 (1).png

Welcome to Kundalini Yoga for Women.

The teachings of Kundalini Yoga say that woman is the hub. They also say she is the river of spirit from which all the animals come to drink. She’s the fount of spirit.

Therefore, there is the necessity to actively, consciously choose YOU. It is easy to forget yourself when you feel needed by others or when your nature may be to reflect others’ needs. It takes a conscious choosing and a consistent putting yourself in the picture.

In these classes you will hear teachings of Kundalini Yoga for women. You will be guided through Kundalini Yoga kriyas, with an emphasis on various aspects of women’s health and vitality, learning the basic yogic techniques along the way. You will engage in meditations to clear and focus your mind, develop your intuition and allow your innate happiness to shine.

Kundalini Yoga, while being of great benefit to physical and emotional health, is also a spiritual practice. For those who feel a yearning for something more - a deeper connection, a longing for the vastness of one’s own self, an intuition of something greater than - Kundalini Yoga offers a practice, a language & a path.

When: Mondays 7.15pm to 8.45pm. 8 weeks 1st February to 29th April 2021.

Where: Yoga on Harris, 15 Harris St Palmyra

Cost: $160 for the 8 weeks. Casual $22.

Mantra Meditation Evenings

January 14th and 21st

7 to 9pm at Yoga on Harris, 15 Harris St Palmyra

On these 2 evenings, of which you can attend one or both, we will explore 2 different shabds.

A shabd is a spiritual teaching in the form of a poetic verse. Kundalini Yoga is founded in and infused with the spirit of Sikh dharma and these 2 shabds which we will explore and also chant are written by the 10th (Guru Gobind Singh, 17th century) and the 5th (Guru Arjun Singh, 16th century) Sikh gurus respectively.

The teachings of Sikh dharma contain universal truths and the one who sincerely chants approaches the state of consciousness of the author of the shabds. Shabd Guru is said to be a powerful medicine for the Aquarian Age, a boat to carry us across the world ocean and a tonic to awaken us the sleepy spell of forgetfulness into an embracing of who we really are.

All are invited to join and enjoy the teachings and the practice. This is an open invitation to all. We will not practice physical yoga in this session, however the contemplation of the meaning of the words of these shabds, guided by the intuitive precision of numbers, is in itself a form of yoga, having a very physical effect in the glandular and nervous systems - an experience that bridges between the animal, the human and the divine.

We will also pay some attention to good pronunciation of the shabds, going through slowly before we chant the shabds together with musical accompaniment for 62 minutes each.

Yogi Tea (chai) will be offered on these evenings - please BYO cup.

More on the individual shabds:

Re Man Shabd - by Guru Gobind Singh

Ray man eh bidh jog kamao
Oh, my mind practice Yoga in this way:

Singhee saach akapat kanthala
Dhiaan bibhoot charhaao

Let Truth be your horn, sincerity your necklace, and meditation the ashes you apply on your body.

These are the first 2 lines of 9. There is so much wisdom in this shabd, and very practical instructions for walking through the world in a way that leads to true contentment. Chanting Re Man is to teach yourself to walk the middle path of the yogi(ni) so as to become golden ie. identify with the radiant body.

Darshan Maago - Guru Arjun Dev Singh

jis neech ka-u ko-ee na jaanai
That wretched being, whom no one knows

naam japat ouh(u) chahu kunṯ maanai
Chanting the Naam, the Name of God, he is honoured in the four directions

darashan maago dayh(i) pi-aaray
Oh Beloved, please give me the blessing of Thy Presence

This is the first 3 lines of 10 of a shabd that speaks from a place in which we are feeling lowest - wretched and unworthy - lifting us to a place of honour through association with the Beloved. And so it is said to be a shabd to reestablish self esteem and honour. In a year in which self affirmation, honour and humility rather than shame are highlighted themes, Darshan Maago is a sacred medicine.

Kundalini Yoga & Karam Kriya

Can you remember a time when you felt fully alive, dynamic, harmonious and vibrantly creative? Or can you imagine yourself in this state? How does it feel?

Join me for a weekly session of Kundalini Yoga enriched with the wisdom of the language of numbers through Karam Kriya to embody yourself more fully and wholly.

TERM 2 2020 KUNDALINI YOGA .png

THURSDAYS 7 to 8.30PM

Yoga on Harris, 15 Harris St Palmyra

4th June to July 2nd - 5 weeks

5 classes $80. Casual class $22

We sometimes talk of the need to find a balance in life, and that is true. But also imbalance is just as much a part of balance and falling off on one side allows us the impetus to correct onto the other side. A dynamic and healthy balance in life creates vitality and charge . Like an ecosystem that thrives on the constant cyclical flow of life, when the dynamic balance is there, the energy created is infinite. We also feel to be part of infinity. And that is a great feeling.

This is different from a yo yo experience of life, where we constantly flip from one expression of a pattern to another, going nowhere but back and forth, or side to side with no advance rather than turning in the right direction.

A brilliant thing about Kundalini Yoga is that it is self selecting and self correcting. Everybody in the one class can feel like it was made just for them and still get very different things out of it. That’s a measure of intelligence moving through each individual and also the group consciousness. Everybody gets just what they need. Imbalances get balanced. Elements get sorted anew. We come closer to dynamic balance and harmony.

Karam Kriya which is the study of numbers as the universal language organically flows into the class where appropriate, mostly in the choice of language to build bridges to experience but also sometimes I share directly a connection made through numbers to enhance and refine understanding and ampllfy experience.

A note on dynamic balance vs yo-yo effect: being human, it is inevitable that sometimes you become aware of being stuck in a loop or an imbalance arises that causes you to truly have to stop and listen. That’s an invitation, actually. If you feel there is something calling your attention and you would appreciate some conscious listening and sometimes gentle, sometimes challenging guidance, perhaps consider making an appointment for a Karam Kriya applied numerology consultation or an individual yoga session, either online or in person with appropriate personal distancing.

You don’t need to have any yoga experience to join the class. The exercises are all doable by all, as modifications are always offered and the effect comes from the energy activation not from perfect form.

the authentic self .png

An attitude to life which can give us a lot of elevation is to see ourselves as adventurers of consciousness. In this attitude we bring our consciousness to our experience like an explorer, open and awake. Curious. Ready for new discoveries.

The yogic practices and teachings of Kundalini Yoga offer us alot of experiences and discoveries in the realms of our own consciousness. It is possible and beneficial to keep an attitude of independence in this adventure. Test it out for yourself. Have experiences. Rely on your own perception. Learn to trust it more and more. The object of all your exploring is ultimately YOU. Waking up from the trance of culture, society and conditioning to realise the true, shining, unique spark that you are: a traveller here in time and space. An adventurer of consciousness.

Along the way, alot of healing can happen in the process of becoming whole.

That is the premise of ALL the Kundalini Yoga classes that I teach.

You are offered alongside the powerful experiences provided by Kundalini Yoga practices and teachings, another dimension in the form of the clarifying wisdom of numbers through Karam Kriya applied numerology: the study of life through numbers and numbers through life.

Experience is not required in either of these disciplines in order to join.

The special focus of this particular 5 week adventure, as it is the 3rd month of the year, is knowing your authentic self by knowing your basic qualities. Yogic teachings give a multi dimensional map of self that adds much more depth to our western maps of understanding. We explore this by experiencing some of the many incidences of 3, or trinities, in the yogic teachings. By approaching the adventure through that lens.

For example:

Lower triangle, upper triangle, the meeting at the heart

3 gunas (basic qualities of life)

The trinity of animal, human, angel

Internal, relationship, external

Buddha (guru principle), Dharma (teachings and technologies), Sangat (conscious community)

And…

The sweet Longtime sun song that we sing at the end of each class, the 3 aspects of “GOD” in our experience as referred to in that blessing and the trinity of love described there.

This little song also gives us some big clues as to the various levels and healthy awakening of love in relationships, including between teacher and student.

No experience necessary and all people are welcome.

Any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in contact with me.

KUNDALINI YOGA CLASSES FOR FALLING TOGETHER

5 weeks series with 2 classes available per week

MONDAYS 7.15 TO 8.45PM

THURSDAYS 7 TO 8.30PM

no wed fall together classes.png

In the 2nd month of this year 2020, negativity could overwhelm us. The splits within us could create doubt and uncertainty. Oppositions in the world at large could seem to divide us more than ever. And then?

Our humanity is called upon as the saving grace. It’s not always easy to act like a human, when we also have animal drives and organic needs. But that is our collective and individual task: to be truly human and humane in the face of insanity - our own and others’. That means, to breathe consciously and decide intentionally. To feel our hearts and remember our common unity. To drop our egoic struggles and be guided by a sense of the We in me and the Thou in all. To let love conquer the mind time and again.

That’s the medicine we all need.

With this 5 week series of classes we will keep moving through all the processes we need to go through to resolve inner conflict and tension, quieten the noise, let go of the struggle and fall not apart but together, into the heart.

We can’t do it by thinking, rather the technologies of Kundalini Yoga do it for us, when we go through them with applied awareness. With kriyas (yoga sets) and meditations to break through obstacles, cleanse physical and mental toxins and take us direct to the heart we will more and more arrive in the heart’s dimension: the 4th dimension, in which love rules, unity feels real, prayer is natural and the desire to serve spontaneously arises.

It’s time to get discriminative. To let the temporary attachments and illusions fall so as to fall into the only true security. When we fall into this bottomless cup of prayer, and keep falling, we fall not apart but together.

These classes are suitable for all levels.

All classes are at Yoga on Harris, 15 Harris St Palmyra.

3 Summer Classes for Taking Heart

3 Summer Classes for Taking Heart

Thursdays 7 to 8.30pm

@ Yoga on Harris, Palmyra

3 Summer classes for Taking Heart

"To fall into the heart is to fall in love. To fall into the heart is to enter an uncertain and unknown realm. To fall into the heart is to call upon your inner possibilities. Falling into the heart is what attracts opportunities. It is a place to ‘be’ not to ‘do’. The heart is like the bud of a flower, while the arc-line (halo) is like the open flower." Shiv Charan Singh

The beginning of 2020 has given us plenty of opportunity for the heart to sink and even fall into despair. It's true that something needs to fall and fall apart so as to fall together. But in this fall there is a destination that has no one location (though the heart is the bud of it) and a bottom that is bottomless: LOVE.

Only the perspective we have when looking from the dimension of the heart can contain all the tensions and stay wise. Only that perspective reminds us of our unity and keeps us in community. And only that horizon is broad enough to take in the whole unfathomable and somehow still also wonderful picture in all its apparent contradictions and still stay open and feeling.

These 3 classes are to encourage you. To help you take heart by falling into your heart. This is sometimes easier said than done, and so we have some powerful and wonderful mantras from Kundalini Yoga to help us get there naturally. We do the labour of the kriyas (exercise sets) and meditations, impacting nervous and glandular systems, to bring about an experience of liberation.

No experience is necessary. It works first time and every time, for the practitioner who is even just a bit open to it.

You may attend all 3 for $60 or a casual for $22.

Or also just turning up should be all right, space wise. Text me to check on 0417 600 751

Payment is by cash on the night or transfer. JS Hergo Thanos BSB 016484 Acct 585533602

Join us for this Summer Intensive: Kundalini Yoga & Karam Kriya at Leighton Beach
Monday 6th to Friday 10th January
6am to 7.30am

5 mornings of refreshing 90 minute classes to start 2020.

Summer Intensive (1).png

In the beginning of January 2020 it’s back to nature, where yoga was originally practiced - with the elements, on the earth, under the sky and in our case, by the Indian ocean.

Back to nature also means back to the simple authenticity of YOUR OWN NATURE. The flavour of 2020 invites us to become very close to our intuition through listening to the messages of the organic self and to the whispers of the heart and to stay close and loyal to these.

Kundalini Yoga provides you with techniques that, when practiced with presence, reliably connect you to your Self and offer the possibility of going beyond techniques to experience the You within you. It involves kriyas (or yoga sets), conscious breath, mantra, focus, relaxation, meditation and teachings that point the mind towards the soul.

Over these 5 days you will practice a different kriya and meditation each day and hear teachings that will support you to consciously place yourself in relation to the themes of 2020.

These classes are suitable for beginners to experienced alike.

WHEN: 6am to 7.30am Monday 6th to Friday 10th January

WHERE: At Mosman-Leighton Beach south of the dog beach, opposite the old footbridge. Park opposite the footbridge and take the southern-most track down to the beach. The class will be in a space a little way to the left of that track.

BRING: yoga mat and/or towel, blanket (can be chilly in the early morning) and water.

Have your bathers on if you wish, ready for a cleansing plunge into the ocean after class! Or just take off directly after class. As you like.

FEES: It is recommended to commit to the 5 classes. However, single classes may also be available. Numbers are limited. 5 classes $100. Casual class $22.
